Good purchase

After boiling only 3 or 4 pots of water, there is a considerable amount of scale on its interior stainless steel bottom [see left-hand photo below]. I've also included a picture of the interior of my old pot that hasn't been de-scaled for six weeks or more [middle photo]. The Cosori has significantly more scale than the old Chef's Choice. I feel confident that a de-scaling will remove the spots, but I'm wondering why are they building up so quickly? I hope this isn't an indicator of a short life span ahead.
Now the good stuff:
1) It's very attractive. A main reason that I'm replacing my good old kettle is because, although it still works well, it is beginning to look very shabby. The Cosori really adds class to my coffee prep area. I like the blue LED lighting as well.
2) It has a glass pot. This allows me to see when the water is approaching a boil, but not quite boiling. I like to brew my coffee at about 200°F. With my old kettle I had to keep opening the lid to peer in to see if it was getting close to boiling. Also the glass pot makes it very easy to see the water level when I'm filling it, rather than squinting at the old pot's sight glass.
3) It's slimmer than the old kettle and doesn't take up quite as much counter space. Although it looks taller than the old one, overall it actually is not.
4) It may be healthier. Other than a necessary gasket of some kind (probably silicone) that seals the glass pot to the stainless steel bottom, no plastic contacts the boiling water.
5) There are hundreds of satisfied customers' reviews on Amazon. This helps give me confidence that my purchase was a wise one.
6) It has a 2-year warranty. Many similar products have only a year or less.
7) It cost considerably less than my old pot did seven years ago.
If this Cosori kettle lasts anywhere near as long as my old one, I will be very happy.
